Surah Al-A’raaf Ayah 12
سُورَةُ الأَعۡرَافِSurah Al-A'raf narrates the stories of many prophets and their nations, emphasizing the consequences of rejecting divine guidance. The name refers to the heights between Paradise and Hell.

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسۡجُدَ إِذۡ أَمَرۡتُكَۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَیۡرࣱ مِّنۡهُ خَلَقۡتَنِی مِن نَّارࣲ وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن طِینࣲ
English
[Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
Urdu
پوچھا، "تجھے کس چیز نے سجدہ کرنے سے روکا جب کہ میں نے تجھ کو حکم دیا تھا؟" بولا، "میں اُس سے بہتر ہوں، تو نے مجھے آگ سے پیدا کیا ہے اور اُسے مٹی سے"
