Surah Al-A’raaf Ayah 138
سُورَةُ الأَعۡرَافِSurah Al-A'raf narrates the stories of many prophets and their nations, emphasizing the consequences of rejecting divine guidance. The name refers to the heights between Paradise and Hell.
وَجَـٰوَزۡنَا بِبَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰۤءِیلَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ فَأَتَوۡا۟ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ یَعۡكُفُونَ عَلَىٰۤ أَصۡنَامࣲ لَّهُمۡۚ قَالُوا۟ یَـٰمُوسَى ٱجۡعَل لَّنَاۤ إِلَـٰهࣰا كَمَا لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةࣱۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ تَجۡهَلُونَ
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly.
بنی اسرائیل کو ہم نے سمندر سے گزار دیا، پھر وہ چلے اور راستے میں ایک ایسی قوم پر اُن کا گزر ہوا جو اپنے چند بتوں کی گرویدہ بنی ہوئی تھی کہنے لگے، "اے موسیٰؑ، ہمارے لیے بھی کوئی ایسا معبود بنا دے جیسے اِن لوگوں کے معبود ہیں" موسیٰؑ نے کہا "تم لوگ بڑی نادانی کی باتیں کرتے ہو
