Surah Al-A’raaf Ayah 176
سُورَةُ الأَعۡرَافِSurah Al-A'raf narrates the stories of many prophets and their nations, emphasizing the consequences of rejecting divine guidance. The name refers to the heights between Paradise and Hell.
وَلَوۡ شِئۡنَا لَرَفَعۡنَـٰهُ بِهَا وَلَـٰكِنَّهُۥۤ أَخۡلَدَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُۚ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلۡكَلۡبِ إِن تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَیۡهِ یَلۡهَثۡ أَوۡ تَتۡرُكۡهُ یَلۡهَثۚ ذَّ ٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔایَـٰتِنَاۚ فَٱقۡصُصِ ٱلۡقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.
اگر ہم چاہتے تو اسے اُن آیتوں کے ذریعہ سے بلندی عطا کرتے، مگر وہ تو زمین ہی کی طرف جھک کر رہ گیا اور اپنی خواہش نفس ہی کے پیچھے پڑا رہا، لہٰذا اس کی حالت کتے کی سی ہو گئی کہ تم اس پر حملہ کرو تب بھی زبان لٹکائے رہے اور اسے چھوڑ دو تب بھی زبان لٹکائے رہے یہی مثال ہے اُن لوگوں کی جو ہماری آیات کو جھٹلاتے ہیں تم یہ حکایات اِن کو سناتے رہو، شاید کہ یہ کچھ غور و فکر کریں
