Surah Al-Baqara Ayah 228
سُورَةُ البَقَرَةِSurah Al-Baqara is the longest chapter of the Quran, revealed in Madinah. It provides comprehensive guidance on Islamic law, stories of previous prophets, and instructions for building a righteous Muslim community.
وَٱلۡمُطَلَّقَـٰتُ یَتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلَـٰثَةَ قُرُوۤءࣲۚ وَلَا یَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن یَكۡتُمۡنَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِیۤ أَرۡحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ یُؤۡمِنَّ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡیَوۡمِ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرِۚ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ إِنۡ أَرَادُوۤا۟ إِصۡلَـٰحࣰاۚ وَلَهُنَّ مِثۡلُ ٱلَّذِی عَلَیۡهِنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۚ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَیۡهِنَّ دَرَجَةࣱۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِیزٌ حَكِیمٌ
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
جن عورتوں کو طلاق دی گئی ہو، وہ تین مرتبہ ایام ماہواری آنے تک اپنے آپ کو روکے رکھیں اور اُن کے لیے یہ جائز نہیں ہے کہ اللہ نے اُن کے رحم میں جو کچھ خلق فرمایا ہو، اُسے چھپائیں اُنہیں ہرگز ایسا نہ کرنا چاہیے، اگر وہ اللہ اور روز آخر پر ایمان رکھتی ہیں اُن کے شوہر تعلقات درست کر لینے پر آمادہ ہوں، تو وہ اِس عدت کے دوران اُنہیں پھر اپنی زوجیت میں واپس لے لینے کے حق دار ہیں عورتوں کے لیے بھی معروف طریقے پر ویسے ہی حقوق ہیں، جیسے مردوں کے حقوق اُن پر ہیں البتہ مردوں کو اُن پر ایک درجہ حاصل ہے اور سب پر اللہ غالب اقتدار رکھنے والا اور حکیم و دانا موجود ہے
