Surah Al-Baqara Ayah 96
سُورَةُ البَقَرَةِSurah Al-Baqara is the longest chapter of the Quran, revealed in Madinah. It provides comprehensive guidance on Islamic law, stories of previous prophets, and instructions for building a righteous Muslim community.
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَیَوٰةࣲ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَشۡرَكُوا۟ۚ یَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ یُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةࣲ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن یُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِیرُۢ بِمَا یَعۡمَلُونَ
And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allah. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allah is Seeing of what they do.
تم انہیں سب سے بڑھ کر جینے کا حریص پاؤ گے حتیٰ کہ یہ اس معاملے میں مشرکوں سے بھی بڑھے ہوئے ہیں ان میں سے ایک ایک شخص یہ چاہتا ہے کہ کسی طرح ہزار برس جیے، حالانکہ لمبی عمر بہرحال اُسے عذاب سے تو دور نہیں پھینک سکتی جیسے کچھ اعمال یہ کر رہے ہیں، اللہ تو انہیں دیکھ ہی رہا ہے
