Surah Al-A’laa

Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,

(اے نبیؐ) اپنے رب برتر کے نام کی تسبیح کرو

Who created and proportioned

جس نے پیدا کیا اور تناسب قائم کیا

And who destined and [then] guided

جس نے تقدیر بنائی پھر راہ دکھائی

And who brings out the pasture

جس نے نباتات اگائیں

And [then] makes it black stubble.

پھر اُن کو سیاہ کوڑا کرکٹ بنا دیا

We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,

ہم تمہیں پڑھوا دیں گے، پھر تم نہیں بھولو گے

Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.

سوائے اُس کے جو اللہ چاہے، وہ ظاہر کو بھی جانتا ہے اور جو کچھ پوشیدہ ہے اُس کو بھی

And We will ease you toward ease.

اور ہم تمہیں آسان طریقے کی سہولت دیتے ہیں

So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

لہٰذا تم نصیحت کرو اگر نصیحت نافع ہو

He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.

جو شخص ڈرتا ہے وہ نصیحت قبول کر لے گا

But the wretched one will avoid it -

اور اس سے گریز کریگا وہ انتہائی بد بخت

[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

جو بڑی آگ میں جائے گا

Neither dying therein nor living.

پھر نہ اس میں مرے گا نہ جیے گا

He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

فلاح پا گیا وہ جس نے پاکیزگی اختیار کی

And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

اور اپنے رب کا نام یاد کیا پھر نماز پڑھی

But you prefer the worldly life,

مگر تم لوگ دنیا کی زندگی کو ترجیح دیتے ہو

While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

حالانکہ آخرت بہتر ہے اور باقی رہنے والی ہے

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

یہی بات پہلے آئے ہوئے صحیفوں میں بھی کہی گئی تھی

The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
