Surah An-Noor Ayah 12
سُورَةُ النُّورِSurah An-Nur establishes laws protecting family honor and social morality. It contains the famous Light Verse (Ayat an-Nur) describing Allah as the Light of the heavens and earth.

لَّوۡلَاۤ إِذۡ سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ خَیۡرࣰا وَقَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَاۤ إِفۡكࣱ مُّبِینࣱ
English
Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of one another and say, "This is an obvious falsehood"?

جب تم نے وہ بات سنی تھی تو مومن مردوں اور عورتوں نے کیوں اپنے دلوں میں نیک گمان نہ کیا۔ اور کیوں نہ کہا کہ یہ صریح طوفان ہے
